AOL Instant Messenger For BlackBerry Being Discontinued

Posted by .:: Channel-Chatter@allnetwork.org :: 18 Oktober 2011
I know there are some people out there that still use AOL Instant Messenger as a way to communicate with friends online.  Many of those AIM users probably use the AOL Instant Messenger application for BlackBerry.
However the current application will be discontinued by Research in Motion,  whom the application is developed by.  Users who currently use the application will be greeted by a message saying the current application will be discontinued. However, AOL has developed a new AOL Instant Messenger application for BlackBerry devices that has a better UI and more features.
Item Description
AIM for BlackBerry® was built from the ground up to allow BlackBerry® users to stay in contact with their Buddies while on the go.  If you connected Facebook to AIM for Windows, Mac or Express, you can chat live with your Facebook friends, right inside AIM for BlackBerry®.  AIM also supports Lifestream – all your social network updates in one place. Comment, like and update your Facebook, foursquare, MySpace, and Twitter status - all from AIM.

Features Include:

• Chat with your AIM Buddies and Facebook friends
• Get your updates from Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and more
• Comment, like and update your Facebook, foursquare, Twitter and MySpace status right from AIM
• Post photos using your camera or upload a saved photo
• Share your location when posting your status
• Supports BlackBerry OS 4.5 or higher (and the new BlackBerry Torch)
• AIM runs over your data service, so no text messages are used (save your text messages!)

It's easy to get started. Just sign in using your existing AOL or AIM user name.
